Book consists of 11 short stories of real life experiences of Chairperson of the Infosys Foundation.

  1. Three thousand stitches : writer wanted to help Devasasis to come out of their miserable life, but instead; those devadasis unwelcomed her with chappals and tomatoes, but after much efforts writer got successful to rescue and rehabilitate 3000 devadasis of Karnataka and in return those women gift her a unique gift - a quilt embroidered by each one of the women, i.e. with THREE THOUSAND STITCHES
  2. How to beat the boys : it's writers own story of her engineering college days. That time no girl used to go for these stream, but writer took admission as she was the only girl in that college, survived with taunts and problems faced by other students and finally completed the course. She had told that how this experience helped her in future.
  3. Food for thought : writer went to one of her friends house for meal invitation and friends father who is botanist gave information that the vegetables and fruits we used to eat, all are not indigenous or indian origin. 
  4. Three handfuls of water : writer narrates soft corner of her life. As how writer connected to Ganga of Kashi through her grandparents.
  5. Cattle class : how people judge according to your attire, writer narrates her own story with one experience.
  6. A life unwritten : this writer's father's story. Being a doctor, when her father posted to a remote region, where he forced to deliver a child of unmarried girl. Later how that child becomes successful in medical stream and meets to writer's father. Such dramatic but real and emotional story.
  7. No place like home : because of poor financial conditions women from South India decides to work in middle East countries, but once reached they come to know there is no escape. this is the story of some organisation in india who help to rescue women's who are trapped in middle East working their as housemaids.
  8. A powerful ambassador : this is the story of writer's love for bollywood and she explains how people across the world are equally affectionate towards this B town celebrities and eventually bollywood movies.
  9. Rasleela and the swimming pool : writer narrates 2 mythological stories of Krishna & Draupadi and then how her grandchildren twisted same stories with their way.
  10. A day in Infosys foundation : one of the writers friend always complains her as she always stay busy and doesn't have time for friend even. So writer asked her to see her work for one day in Infosys Foundation.  
  11. I can't, we can : writer came to know about 'Alcoholic Anonymous'. She attends one meeting of this organisation, and here she listens stories of different alcoholic persons which are now rehabilitated and living their normal life.
